Hello Viera, This is Cabot Tower on Brandon Hill. It was put up by the merchants of Bristol in memory of John Cabot who sailed his ship the Matthew to Newfoundland in the fifteenth century. (I can't remember the year but I'll look it up and come back.) It looks like an angel on the top but it is Mercury the winged god of commerce.
