I also would like to be playing at "La Scala" Les varizone de Carmen de Bizet solo violino con l'orchestra de la Scala. Cosa dicce ............. tropo tardi ?
Excellent album, Viera... From the pictures I easily figure out how you must have made the most of your time in that always enchanting city. When we are surrounded by art, we always feel there is something very special in the air... I am looking forward to hear about the performance at La Scala... In the meantime, have a nice day, hugs, Belita
Welcome Michael...Nice to see you on my page...You right, Milan has a beautiful architectutre and most of them are in the town centre...and I had the good fortune to visit it in a short time...but also it was a beautiful sunny day...
That is the most famous painting done by Leonardo da Vinci... It is one of the most famous works of art in the world... definitely...Glad you like it as well...
In 1386, Archbishop Antonio da Saluzzo began construction of Duomo in a rayonnant Late Gothic style more typically French than Italian....and the octagonal cupola was completed at 16th century....Glad you like it...
The famous "Madonnina" atop the main spire of the cathedral, a baroque gilded bronze artwork. On May 20, 1805, Napoleon Bonaparte, about to be crowned King of Italy, ordered the façade to be finished in neo Gothic details. As a form of thanksgiving, a statue of Napoleon was placed at the top of one of the spires.
Even though this reimbursement was never paid, it still meant that finally, within only seven years, the Cathedral had its façade completed.Napoleon was crowned King of Italy at the Duomo...
Very nice!
