Isn't it funny  how you can still

get butterflies in your stomach,

even though you have known

the person for years...

You know the feeling, that “fluttery” or “tickling” sense you get in your stomach? You feel your digestion shut down, your heart and breathing rate goes up as well as your blood pressure. You feel a huge fluctuation of cortisol, adrenaline and other hormones in your system.

Physiologically speaking, it’s your body’s fight or flight response to a sense of love, excitement or even nervousness. No one really swallows butterflies whole. There is an elevation in sympathetic activity in the autonomic nervous system. Physically you’re aroused because you perceive a potential threat or challenging situation and your brain increases that level of arousal to meet the challenge.

It kicks in whenever you run into or see that person you like and frankly it’s normal to feel nervous. We even tend to do or blurt out stupid things in the process and that’s still okay, it’s something we can look back on one day. So, be nervous and take in that butterfly experience, sometimes we all need it every once in awhile to remind us what’s worth living for.

HAPPINESS AND LOVE

Benjamin Franklin once said, "If you would be loved, love and be lovable." Love is something we are all in at least one time or another in our life. There are many different meanings for the word love and many people interpret it differently. When you love someone you care not only about them as a person, but also about their well being. When they are hurt, you feel hurt and when they are in pain you feel pain also. Their physical and emotional problems are not only theirs, but they are yours as well. To be in love means to care about that person so deeply that your life would not be complete without them. The fact that you cherish one person so much is a blessing to some, as well as a gift.

The following fable tells of an orphan girl who had all the happiness in the world.

"There is a wonderful fable about a young orphan girl who had no family and no one to love her. One day, feeling exceptionally sad and lonely, she was walking through the meadow when she noticed a small butterfly caught unmercifully in a thornbush. The more the butterfly struggled to free itself, the deeper the thorns cut into the butterfly from its captivity. Instead of flying away, the little butterfly changed into a beautiful fairy. The young girl rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

'For your wonderful kindness,' the good fairy said to the girl, 'I will grant you any wish you would like.'

SUNSHINE OF LIFE

A poet once described friends as ”the sunshine of life.” I myself have found that the day is certainly much brighter when I’m sharing it with my friends. Enjoying friendship is one of life’s sweetest blessings and joys. What would we do without people and the many shadings of companionship and camaraderie? We need friends in our lives, friends with whom we not only discuss ”deep” issues and confide our secrets, fears, or sorrows, but with whom we can laugh, play, and even cry. The best times in life are made a thousand times better when shared with a dear friend.

Camaraderie is definitely a part of friendship, and camaraderie it self can often produce friendships, too. When we reach out to others, they reach out to us. It’s a two-way street, a street practically lined with balloons and streamers in celebration of the unique bonds of friendship.

Friends are indeed the ”sunshine of Life.” ...at least for me...

I wanted to do something nice for someone VERY SPECIAL who was in my life... she was a VERY CARING person..someone that WOULD give her shirt off her back to give to someone...I know this...coz she HAD done this for me many many times...she was ALWAYS there when I needed to talk,...had a problem.. or just to said hi!!...this person had ALWAYS been around for me and my sister our entire life...she HAD GIVEN up her OWN happiness and when we were very young... and she was left to raise 2 little girls BY HERSELF...she decided to put her life on hold...this person has taught me the meaning of being a "MOTHER"...and HAD BEEN THERE for my own family... I am FOREVER GRATEFUL and so VERY THANKFUL ...that it was meant for me...to have this person in my life...she had also given me the GREATEST gift ever...BIRTH..this person I'm referring to...was none other then...

The Cheeriness of Spring

 

Last year it was cherry blossom trees. This year it is bright golden tulips that make me catch my breath every time I spot one.

 

For me these flowers personify happiness. I see them and they make my heart feel light. They are refreshing. They are cheerful. They are my happy feeling.

When I gaze at them they pull me in and they capture my full attention. For the few seconds they have power over me, I am able to forget everything else as I revel in their beauty, in the hope they exude. They make my mind wander and wonder about all the many and glorious things I can accomplish in my life. They truly bring a smile to my face and they make me feel as if I can conquer anything.

If God, for a second, forgot what I have become and granted me a

things right, but in case I am wrong, and today is all that is left to
me, I would love to tell you how much I love you & that I will never
forget you.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed to anyone, young or old. Today could be
the last time to see your loved ones, which is why you mustn't wait;
do it today, in case tomorrow never arrives. I am sure you will be
sorry you wasted the opportunity today to give a smile, a hug, a kiss,
and that you were too busy to grant them their last wish.

Keep your loved ones near you; tell them in their ears and to their
faces how much you need them and love them. Love them and treat them
well; take your time to tell them "I am sorry";" forgive me"," please"
"thank you", and all those loving words you know.

Nobody will know you for your secret thought. Ask the Lord for wisdom and
strength to express them.

Eighteen year old Jamal Malik is having an amazing answering streak on the Indian version of the television game show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire". He's only one correct question away from the big prize. However, some, including those associated with the game show, question how someone like Jamal, a self confessed non-genius who grew up in the slums of Mumbai, can be doing so well on the show when others who are brighter, more educated and wealthier than him have failed. A 31-year old man was recently fined for swimming in the Trevi Fountain . If he was attempting a reproduction of Anita Ekberg  in the famous scene, he probably missed the mark.

The man entered the water, before enacting a swimming race and then dived into the larger pool at the foot of the fountain.

A few years ago, entering the water got you a 15.000 lire fine which equates to about 300 euros today.

Can we Really be Lucky?

Can we Really be Lucky?

Luck means occurring by chance. It implies that

Luck just happens by chance, and

It cannot be planned or obtained by intention.

You cannot influence the result of a lottery, or a roll of dice, for example. So you cannot win by wishing or hoping.
Yet, apart from this you can be lucky. Here's how...

1. Know what you want

If you don't know what you want, how will you know when you find it?

As a student, I was amazed that when I had learned a new word, I seemed to see it and hear it everywhere. It was as if after learning it, the world presented it to me on every occasion! Of course, the word did not occur more frequently - my awareness of it was greater! I heard it when previously, I had ignored it. Similarly, opportunities may surround us, but do not observe them? Opportunities of all kinds surround us, and we recognise them when we have good fortune in mind.

2. Let everyone know what you want

If you let others know what you want, they can pass on to you useful information and tips, but when unaware of what you want, they obviously can't help you.

3. If at first you don't succeed, then try, try and try again, and then give up and do something else

We do not know which of the several or many things we try will work. Eighty per cent, at least of what we try will not bring the dramatic results we want. Of the remaining 20 per cent, only 4 per cent will be of much use. Successful people try many things. Try, try, try again, but then do something else! If a tiger wants your dinner, let it have it! You can always come back with your gun.

4. Be a lifelong learner

I have often heard people talk about their dream, perhaps a new business. Yet many choose something they know nothing about. They do not prepare themselves by learning all they can, before they make the jump!
Those who succeed become experts in their area of interest. They read, study, listen and ask questions, and gain experience.

5. Trust your intuition

Respect your hunches and 'feelings.' This does not mean you blindly gamble on a hunch, it means that you give consideration to what appears, at first, to be irrational 'feelings' which may be clues from the unconscious mind which your conscious has missed. Respect your hunches and check them out! Remember may famous scientific discovers derived from sudden hunches or insights. But the scientist then had to prove them.
Also, intuitions might come to you gently and quietly. By listening to them and being aware of them you can open up the opportunities in your life.

6. Believe you will succeed

Many really great achievements did not come overnight. They were often proceeded by many false starts, and difficulties. Maintain your faith that you will soon succeed in small things and in time in great ones. Never give up on your dreams... You will succeed sooner than you thought...

SUNDAY MORNING

Some years ago, before the sun decided to hide behind the clouds and chills of the night crept into the day, someone told me that true love is just a myth; it is something authors invented and it only existed in their books!

I sighed and for a second there, I almost believed…

Then, I met a love story, one which has been there for years and is still going on…

I doubted again: True love does exist!

To another couple I dedicate this piece of writing…

Maybe some deny the existence of love and its great power,
Yet others still sense, smell, taste and live love by the hour.

Maybe we've never been introduced to love some time before,
And maybe it just didn't yet find its way to our door.

Yet seeing those two together made me again see and believe,
Love does exist, love in its purest form, one which won't lie or deceive.

Their fight for each other made my heart warm and tingle with bliss,
Their struggle with the world to embrace that love filled me with happiness.

Nothing is always perfect and they knew they needed to hold on,
The world outside their love is irrelevant, their fear of tomorrow almost gone.

Seeing those two fight, play and joke around , I must say -
So thank you both for everything and your love I will always protect and adore…
