Riverside walk

Across the river Thames is Fulham Palace Gardens and Bishops Park, the church tower of All Saints Church, Fulham can also be seen. At the end of the road you cross Beverley Brook on a small footbridge. Along the river you can see Craven Cottage, the ground of Fulham Football Club.

Putney Bridge is unique in that it is the only bridge in Britain to have a church at both ends the ancient St. Mary's Church, Putney is located in Putney on the south bank; All Saints Church, Fulham is on the north bank and featured in the film The Omen.

The walk next to the Wetland Centre is peaceful and soon you come to the former Harrods Furniture Depository, now re-developed into flats. The attractive Hammersmith Bridge is ahead.

The Dove is one of London's most famous pubs and dates as far back as the 17th Century. The smallest bar in the world, frequented in the past by Ernest Hemingway and Graham Greene

  11. Yes, I like water also, like rivers, but the sea has always been my favourite and now I live quite close to it, only 1 km away. Cheers!

  12. wow...I envy you that...that is for me only dream...

    Have a nice evening...

  13. I ceased having dreams (at least consciously) in my teens, after that I just set out to do things that I wanted to do, which remains my outlook. While I enjoyed my life in North America I cannot help but think about how my life would have been if I had come to Spain at an early age. It definitely would have been quite different, but perhaps we tend to follow a given lifeline. What do you think? I do enjoy seeing your photos and interact with you. xox

  14. Having dreams is a spiritual gift...

As a gift, dreams is like having the ability to draw or sing. You can use these skills for your pleasure.

I'm trying to follow my dreams but it is not easy to be always successfull...However taking a picture is my desperate hobby...like travelling....-)

  15. My view is quite different from yours: I think that dreams tend to take the form of illusions, and expressions of desire. I only view things in terms of reality, capabilities, chance or opportunity etc.

  16. Maybe...

John Lennon said, "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination." This is an intensely thought provoking quotation, inspiring us to follow our dreams.

And what are my dreams? Some of them are imaginary and some of them are real. Some of them have a bearing on my life...but the best are those which come true...:-)

  17. Not just maybe, Viera, our outlooks and philosophies are as far apart as the earth to the moon, if not farther, lol. You are entitled to your views, but I stick to the philosophical view, that "reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or might be imagined."
    See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality. Cheers and hugs!

  18. "real life" refers to life in the real world. But It's important to know that our wishes evolve and adjust to reality. It is sure, that our ambitions depend on the reality in which we are living. As far as I am concerned, I have a lot of dreams and numerous ambitions...and I don't think that it is not normal...

    Have a nice evening...

  19. Viera, I truly believe most people are afraid of reality, and facing it, hence they prefer to seek dreams for comfort etc. On the other hand, being realistic doesn't mean you have to forego imagination and the like, if you see what I mean. I also want to make it clear that I did not imply that you are not normal.

  20. Armejan be sure that I believe all you said...

    I only think that

the life is not about winning, it's about not giving up....

Maybe it will be better to correct my sentence :"wow...I envy you that...that is for me only dream..."

I meant, that I don't have a sea so close, but I love to spend my holiday there...

    OdpovedaťOdstrániť
  21. Now, I have to admit you have me both puzzled and intrigued. What made you say exactly that about winning and not giving up?

  22. In life there were be moments which have tried to bring me down and show me what I want to achieve is not possible. Everything takes time to learn and I've made make also some mistakes. Many time I needed to try a different angle, study more or practice more but very important was - don’t give up...Only for me...It was not competition...
And due to I believe :
"Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts."

    Good morning...

  23. Thanks for clarifying that for me. What obviously is of greatest importance to you, and anybody else for that matter, is what works or has worked for you. I don't think it serves any purpose to add to what I have already said on the subject. Instead I would be interested in learning more about the dreams you would like to realize or bring to life. Have a good evening, as well as an equally good weekend. We finally got some rain here today. We were supposed to get more tomorrow, but when I just checked it was revised, and we now won't get any after all. We really needed some rain now, although we do have reserves to draw on from last winter, when we had more rain. As II was returning home from a shopping round there was not only a rare thunder, but also a lightning that appeared over the bay in the direction of the beach. It was quite a sight. Cheers and hugs.

  24. It is very hard to take a photo of lightning...I captured it only once... It is like a movie "Harry Potter"

I wish you a terrific weekend...

    Hugs

  25. You are undoubtedly right, Viera. I have yet to capture one, except with my eyes, but the one witnessed today is embedded vividly in my memory. Most people do not fully appreciate their eyesight, I'm afraid, or what do think? xox

  26. you are right...Looking directly at the sun (or any really bright light, including lightning) can damage our eyes....

Due to I like to look a pictures of lightning...

    However it is a beautiful
    natural phenomenon
    even though very dangerous...
