You`re always welcome, dear Viera once again as before..... MAY YOUR SWEETEST DREAMS COME TRUE, young kind Lady. please give me that happy news, okay ? .....ciao
This cathedral has known several re-incarnations: first built as the church for the Hohenzolern family in the 15th century, then rebuilt in Baroque style in the 18th century, later replaced by a neoclassical structure. Then Kaiser Wilhelm II had it demolished in 1894 and rebuilt in a grand and ambitious style, to be the Protestant answer to the Catholic St. Peter's in Rome. The building was finished in 1905. It was severely damaged during the 2nd World War, in 1944. Restoration was carried out between 1984-1993.
The outer Dome structure was rebuilt with a simplified cupola and spires between 1975 and 1982. The 114m-high Dome is sided by four towers and the interior is rich with New Testament and Reformation period elements Really worthy to see it...
yes . The 13.5 meter high (44ft) equestrian statue of King Friedrich II of Prussia (1712-86) is of bronze. The lower part includes 4 tablets emblazoned with the names of 60 men proclaimed to be leading figures in Germany at the time of construction. They are Prince Henry of Prussia, Duke Ferdinand of Brunswick and Generals Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz and Hans Joachim von Ziethen. On the same level are 21 statues that depict the most outstanding generals of Frederick’s army as well as additional statues of other leading figures in politics, art, and science. Christian Daniel Rauch had devised his design nearly 10 years before construction actually began, and by the time it was completed in 1851, the artist had spent nearly 20 years of his life working on this single project....
The Schloßbrucke (Palace Bridge) was built in the early 1800s and led to the palace that was located on Museum Island. It is considered the most beautiful out of the numerous bridges in Berlin.
