Tulln an der Donau 24/8/2012

Tulln an der Donau (Tulln on the Danube) is a town in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. Because of its abundance of parks and other green spaces, Tulln is often referred to as Blumenstadt, meaning city of flowers. While the town is surrounded by the Tullnerfeld flatland, almost all of its built-up area is located on the southern bank of the Danube.

Tulln is one of the oldest towns in Austria. Although it was settled in pre-Roman times (the name Tulln is presumably a Celtic word), it gained importance as the Roman fort of Comagena (Comagenis). In the final years of Roman rule, Saint Severinus of Noricum is said to have visited the city, saving it from the Barbarians.
THE CITY TULLN offers a wide range of attractions. One of them is organic Garden Show.

These gardens will show visitors how to design their own gardens and maintain them in a natural and organic way. Ideas can be taken home and realized in the house garden.

THE GARDEN TULLN is not only the first permanent organic Horticultural Show in Europe, but is surrounded by beautiful woodland with water ways for canoeing, walking paths for strolling through the forest and a connecting bridge to the charming town of Tulln

  1. Loved the tour together with you. By the way, your post Fantastic show of the Power of Nature is fantastic!!! The background music suits perfectly the images and makes them look more powerful. Thanks, Viera, for your visit of yesterday.... I did appreciate it very much. Impossible to drop comment on your blogspot home. That verification code doesn't work at all. You better set it on OFF. That's what most of the Blogspot bloggers who are my friends have done. Hugs with best wishes for a great start of the week.
